Parish Life

Spiritual activities include

  • Reflection on sermons at the Sunday Eucharist.
  • Quiet Days held four times a year. These encourage reflection on continuing and current spiritual matters, using a variety of well chosen text materials and thematic music.
  • The St John's Icon School which meets on Tuesday mornings to write Icons.



Social activities
typically feature

  • Weekly morning coffee after the Eucharist on Sundays, with regular celebrations of events important to the parish and parishioners.
  • Parish lunches – a seasonal cycles of lunches held in the refurbished hall and kitchen complex, or in the garden during warmer weather.
  • Petanque played on the piste in nearby Victoria Park.



 

Fundraising activities include

  • The Community Store, housed in the Hall building and open on Saturdays 9.30am-3.30pm. Volunteer parishioners staff the store.
  • Examinations supervision of students studying externally at interstate and overseas universities.
  • Other activities eg the Annnual ABM Dinner to raise money for Bishop Leftwich and his Aboriginal ministry.
